a package came, but the box was only big enough for one boy...
well, dashiell made it fit both of them...not comfortably, though!
on our way to el torito for their 'penny perks' thursday night dinner.
(derek wanted the unlimited enchiladas...but held back after only getting 2 more. he says he could have eaten FIFTY more! yikes.)

for father's day, we took derek for breakfast at souplantation (he's wanted to do that forever)
and then we took the boys out to fairview park to ride the (free!) trains. they only give the public rides on the 3rd sat/sun of each month, and today was the day. i also needed to go to the roadrunner store, so we went there afterwards (it was only 5 min away).
so, here's dashiell and nana waiting in line. only about a 10 minute wait until we were on a train.
no photography allowed while on the train, so this is all i could get--
while we were on the train, we saw them get a third train ready. it was different from the first two, so dashiell and i got back in line (it was longer this time than when we first lined up) and waited for the right train. nana and brennan sat this one out, so we were able to get some pictures this time.
of course, afterwards we headed towards the little gift shop, where i got dashiell a yellow train.
[the trains are operated solely by volunteers, for the last 20+ years. they accept donations, and open up the trains to the public only one sat/sun a month. we may have to come back sometime!]

we're off to ride the hot air balloon!
matthew with our boarding passes
looking up at the balloon as it takes the people before us
waiting for it to land
...and here we go!
brennan, before i took him out
looking over the 'walking timeline' on the ground below
looking up at the balloon
...and we're done!
'it's not so scary, mama.'
walking to the car...with the 'walking timeline' underfoot
