Dashiell had a fever last night and ended up crawling into our bed...he was burning up and then started coughing. =(

Since we are STAR testing at school today and tomorrow, I decided to stay home with him. With the way Brennan has been lately, it was probably safer. Actually, I know it was safer.

So here's Dashiell sitting in our new chair in the room, playing his ds.

I spent half the time snuggling with Dashiell and trying to keep Brennan off him, but when I wasn't doing that, I was helping Mitzi make some diaper covers (and a couple of matching stocking caps) for her to use with newborns.

Here's me taking some pictures with the computer's webcam so that I can send them to her to see. I was a little loopy by this point.

Brennan insisted on wearing a 'diggah' shirt like Dashiell, so big brother agreed to let him borrow his shirt. Scary how it's not insanely big on Brennan. Hmm.

At the park again...Matthew's game last Wed was rescheduled due to rain, so we had back-to-back games this weekend.

This is Matthew, a split second after hitting a whopper of a fly ball out into center field. He got all the way to 3rd base, and it wasn't because the other team was throwing the ball all over the place! The ball pretty much made it all the way to the fence! Woo-hoo!

So it was Dashiell's turn to get a haircut. Not nearly as bad as Brennan, but still a little bit whiny.

I decided to get it cut shorter at the top so that we could spike it up a bit sometimes.

He was NOT happy about me taking his picture. Uh-oh! Turning into Matthew!

This is more like the Dashiell I know...hamming it up!

Happy Birthday, Matthew!!!

After dinner, Derek took Dashiell and Matthew to go spend some of their birthday money at Target. Dashiell had $11 and Matthew had these cool $5 giftcard-tokens (5 of them). Matthew got Pokemon stuff, of course, while Dashiell, surprisingly, did NOT buy more monster trucks! He almost did, from what I heard. But instead, he chose these two muscle cars:

matt's team played the dodgers

this is the bottom of the 5th inning, tied at 5-5. matthew is the first batter up.

he hits a line drive right between 2nd and the shortstop. he starts the team off with a nice base hit~

a couple more hits follow, and he's able to move around the bases.

then he scores! the cubbies scored 4 runs this inning, with matt leading them off! =)

the cubs were able to hold off the dodgers in the top of the 6th, to win the game 8-9.

derek, dashiell and i headed off to ikea in the afternoon, to get a chair, lamp, and rug for the spot where bren's crib used to be. *sniff-sniff*

dashiell took assembling the chair very seriously.

brennan's not so serious this time

(no finished picture yet, because i was not happy with the rug nor the lamps. we went back to ikea...i got a new lamp, and got a rug from another store. pictures to come...)
