12-13-15

two weeks ago i came out the first time to join the 'snail's pace academy' and assist in their training run
i told them i'd come back for their 18mi run to help, so here i am!
this was around mile 9 or so...at one of the aid stations
james is holding up well!
although the last two miles were a bit hard on him, he powered through and ended up doing great!
don't get me wrong, my legs were tired too!
then i quickly went home, showered and ate and headed off tot he sculpture garden to get some pictures.
hopefully some of them will come out nice.  a friend (and former student) bree helped me out.  =)
 grading isn't getting done tonight.
i'm tired.
so is peri.

 what a sweetheart <3 p="">

12-12-15

the divas run was in the OC again today
heather is resting, tam has holiday races she has to go to since she's their ambassador, shanon is running locally to her, as is lilia...
so i was soooo thankful when annie said she was coming out for the run!
i hadn't run with her since idyllwild (but i did see her at griffith a couple of weeks ago)

taking a picture of brenny's teeth (and can you see the new ones ready to come out??)
he has an appointment tuesday, and they will probably pull the two baby teeth to make sure there's room for those big chompers
dinner at friday's where apparently every saturday night there is a balloon maker!  whoa!

12-10-15

i love this letter from dashiell!

12-9-15

running in the dark.
got my lights!
 doesn't our track look great?!

12-8-15

kind of hard to see, but brennan wrote something on his jacket.
i don't understand it and i don't know why he did this.  -_-
dashiell earned the math award from his teacher!!!

 1 mile again!
my kids got their "stockings" made and we finished our door decoration.
 another mile walk with mom.
look at jerry's decorations!
 peri-girl
 misty found something to watch

12-7-15

 can you see it??
we had a baby fish!
(there must've been more that all got eaten...)

12-6-15

 surgery to remove an ingrown/hangnail...

saying bye to these awesome ladies.
i have to get home and be with the family, and they are staying one more day
there's the "hip hip hooray" art piece in the back...from the owner's hip surgery (it's the contraption she had to put between her legs?  she cemented it and painted it yellow...)
 driving to sfo...

12-5-15

so my day started pretty early.
i woke up around 3:20 so i could drop julie off at the start (we left around 3:40)
there was this one way tunnel we had to drive through...it was interesting
i went back to the house to get heather, who was still getting ready.  ready to leave the house for the second time (in the dark)
at the start line, we finally find ann-marie and maria (two more dirt divas!)
 and off they go!
dean kanazares was at the mike.  pretty cool.

aw, darn!  maria's hand is in the way

maria, ann-marie, heather's australian friend, and heather

hurriedly went back to the house briefly after seeing most everyone at the first 3.8mi aid station.
finally made it to stinson beach

 but i missed julie  =(
waited around here for around 90 minutes.
yes.  90 minutes.  shuttles were supposed to come every 30 minutes!

i totally could've gone for a really nice hike instead of standing around waiting.  bleah.

finally made it back to the tennessee valley aid station after a 90min wait and a 40min shuttle ride.
i got to see heather, ann-marie, maria, and kathy come through!

then i waited another hour just so i could see julie come through.
this was mile 44 for her.  i felt i needed to stay to see her since i missed her at mile 28.7 (or was it 27.8?)
 so happy!!!
then i hurried back to the start line, and i missed everyone coming through the finish line, except for julie!
she ran so fast the last 6 miles -- in around 70 minutes.  with a huge hill to climb, even!
she's such a strong runner!!  <3 p="">
