my new ice/trail shoes came in...gonna break 'em in next week~
kind of scared to...i've never really run in the snow/ice (well, i take that back.  i recall doing so when i was in middle school and went out to run in the mornings...by myself!  what was wrong with me?!)
signed up for the resolution 10K on new year's too...
will also be (hopefully) continuing my insanity workout in MT...

after my 5 mile run this afternoon with lily, i ran into (literally, because they were on the blacktop talking to jason wat, the xc/track coach) jesse lin, ian chiang, and kent chen.
three students from my multivariable class last year (last year was the 1st year of this course, and there were only 22 of them.  i also taught them the year before, in calc bc, as juniors).
so it was great to see them!
kent is at cal berkeley, ian is at rice, and jesse is at ucsb.
i'm going to hang up the pennant and put the mug on my desk tomorrow! =D

went with derek to sage's christmas party at the orange county mining company...
hadn't been there in years, and was hoping for some good food after my long run this morning.
it didn't happen.
so unfortunate that their salad left much to be desired (as in no eggs, and bacos instead of real bacon bits!) and really tough prime rib (that they were carving especially for us!)
boo.
but they had a photo booth...but we look goofy.  =P

these boys sleep just like how i did when i was a kid.
especially dashiell, who often sits up (with eyes closed) and flops down onto the bed.
when i was 7 or 8, i distinctly remember waking up with my head at the foot of the bed all the time, wondering what the heck happened...
immer and i used to also have our 2 twin beds together, and we would sleep on it like it were a queen sized bed.  she HATED it because i was always kicking her and throwing my legs over her (hmmm, just like in this picture!)
she still remembers O.o and does not believe that i can actually sleep still now that i'm older.
