It was "Hero Day" today in Room 17. The students all dressed up as the hero they researched about. Matthew was Walt Disney. He had his speech memorized (even Mrs. Forgione told me he knew his the best out of everyone), but he got a bit of stage fright. He read from his paper the whole time. That's okay! It was his first time speaking in front of the whole class, a room full of parents, and a visiting 2nd grade class!
After the first half of the speeches, the kids hosted some cookie treats outside, where the 'heroes' were available to answer any questions. In this picture, Matthew stands by his 'best friend' Vraj.
After all the 'heroes' made their speeches, they had a group picture.
