i got brenny the thumbguard, to see if we can help him break his habit
it was kind of sad to see on him. he wasn't complaining out loud or anything, but he was wondering why the heck it was on his hands. we first only put one, then realized both really do need to be on, because he started to suck the other thumb that he doesn't normally use.
then he even started to suck on his fingers! but only because he wanted something in his mouth, i think.
he would mumble quietly to me, 'take off, mam-mam'
he slept with it on...i don't think he slept well, though.
i took them off in the morning after he woke up. he woke up holding up both hands, saying, 'take off, mam-mam'BUT the up-side of it all...telling him 'no thumb!' is much more effective now -- plus with the threat of having to put the thumbguard back on helps as well.
