he had less time, because i had to pick him up early from this little workshop/class to head out to kaiser for a screening appointment.

he was only one of the few that were able to even get on base.

apparently the kid pitching throws hard and throws curve balls, too.

the 2 after matthew both struck out. =(

3-20-11

it was a rainy morning.

dashiell's game was cancelled...and then so was matthew's...until we found out they wanted to *try* to play...so they had to all report to the field at 12noon. i didn't realize they were still going out there, so i was taking my time at ralphs...i got to the field around 12:30, and it was pouring on them. they finally called it.

we had my birthday cake a day late, because it wasn't ready the night before.

watch out, the house is going to catch on fire if we're not careful!

3-19-11

went out for a 3.8mi run, to commemorate my 38th birthday. the boys *just* woke up when i got back.

i decided i wanted to go to mimi's for breakfast. and coincidentally, just before we headed out the door, i opened immer's bday card to me...which contained a gift card for mimi's! great minds think alike!!

(i'm glad i opened it before we left and not after we came home!)


matthew had a game later that afternoon...

brennan wasn't too happy about waking up from him nap to come to the park...

so daddy took him home.
matthew got on base, and was able to score! woo-hoo!

(i was working the scoreboard...hence the caged-in look for the pictures, and the different perspective.)
dashiell played at the playground with nana, and sat to watch the game for a bit, too!
headed up to bat again...

while waiting for nana to pick up dashiell from school, brenny and i played outside in the yard.

it was such a nice day outside!

while sitting on the swing, we noticed a little caterpillar.

dashiell decides to check it out.

sadly, when i was trying to convince him to touch it, he asked me why don't i touch it...

i, er, had to decline!

but i convinced him to just 'pretend' to touch it (just for the camera, that is)


we finally put it on a little leaf.

brennan decided it needed lots of flower petals.

i think he put the l'il guy into shock, because he didn't move for a long while after the petals fell all around him. =P

brennan kept accidentally flipping the leaf upside down...

and you can see dashiell's reaction to it.

he was surprised the caterpillar was able to hang on! =)
