this was matt's first at-bat. nice solid hit...but right to the shortstop.
second at bat...battled and walked after a 2-2 count, which included 3 foul-tipped balls.stranded on base.

----------------------they played the A's, and beat them 23-1 (or was it 2?)
the first inning lasted almost an hour...and was pretty sad, for the other team. our guys just kept hitting and hitting. the ump called the game 'early', after only 3 innings (but 2 hours).
