we weren't able to make use of the private entrance from the sheraton quite as we had expected because the park officially opens at 10am (and so does the private entrance). but they let people in to shop (at the 3 stores in the front) and 5 select rides open at 9:30am. the rest is still blocked off.
so we got the valet at the hotel to drop us off and then we were going to use the entrance to get back at the end of the day.
so here we are...at LEGOLAND!!!
there were a lot of oohing and aahing going through miniland
look! there were even ewoks in the trees!
we are up there at the top...really!

all in all, a super-fun day. we used the buy-1-get-1 passes the kids earned from their library reading program to get in today. but before we left for the day, i went to guest services and converted it over to season passes. they gave us full face value credit for the adult tickets we paid and $10 credit for each of the free ones (cool!) we applied it to 5 resort passes (admission to the park, aquarium, and the water park including parking + some other discounts) for everyone but derek. since i was planning on having us buy the $99/3 day pass from costco, whereas the regular season pass is $99, i figured it would be pointless to just get the regular passes. parking is $12 each time anyways. each of the 5 passes we got came with 1 free ticket each, so we can use those for when derek can actually join us. =) i think it will work out just fine.
