happy dad's day!
[i don't call you 'father', i call you 'dad'!]
in order to let daddy get a restful day full of whatever he wants to do, nana and i took dashiell (who's like an only child today) to LEGOLAND!
it was pretty empty at the beginning of the day. it actually got a little busy, but nothing compared to what we've seen previously. it was quite nice.
we were the 2nd to ride the laser tag ride (what's that called!?),
the first to the ride the planes (below)...
the first on dune racers (he even went twice!)
look, dashiell and nana are all locked up!
we got to the pirate's reef section...finally got to ride this again since our very first trip there because there was practically no line (1 group ahead of us)
then we waited like 5 minutes for the new ride. we got SOAKED. next time only bathing suits on the ride!
around 11am we headed for the water park.
here's dashiell taking a break to eat a spam sandwich while nana gets some lunch
after almost FOUR hours at the water park, we headed out. the clouds moved in, and it was getting cooler.
he rode the BIG kids cars for the first time!
then we got on the helicopter...
later the safari ride and the fairy take brook...
then to the build & test section. we never quite made it back to the playground area by the laser tag...
we also (first time ever!) did NOT go to the aquarium.
he wanted to, though. but we didn't have much time left...
i got him some ninjago toys and a mini-figure at the big store in the front, and he was content to play with those in the car as well as eat some chicken strips on the car ride home.
(he got a little sun today, huh?) |
there was a TON of traffic. he slept about 1 1/2 hours!
all in all, a GREAT day for dashiell!
come to think of it, there was absolutely NO whining ALL day long!
hmm. guess that's what happens when there's no brother around to pester him and fight with.
i was telling derek how i remembered going on trips with my dad (with no sister and no mom, either). just me and my dad. and how i LOVED it. i totally get it. =)

Looks like so much fun! I've only been to Legoland once when Sammy was one month short of four and they wouldn't let him go on most of the rides even though he was taller than the four and five year olds in line. :( I'd love to go back though...maybe next year when our Disney passes run out?!
