August 20, 2012, part 2

the afternoon turned pretty warm after derek left for home

gramma decided the kids (really, my boys, not zoe) needed to run off some energy after brenny's nap:

so we headed off to bonner park, which is a splash park.

there is a regular playground as well as a water one~

 after playing in the water for a while, they decided to head off and find gramma and zoe, who were at the swings.

 dashiell wanted to push zoe on the swing

brenny was done playing, so we laid down on the grass (at first), but he said it was poke-y, so we laid on the towel.

we were looking at the sky, clouds, trees..and then he wanted us to make silly faces.

he actually wanted me to make a silly face just like how he's doing it...
(mine, above, was apparently unacceptable)
but i told him if i did, i wouldn't be able to take the picture of us!
so he showed me how he wanted me to do it (see below)

after dinner, gramma headed out to pick the peas, and eventually everyone came down to help

 gramma needed more buckets, and dashiell was happy to oblige ;-)

 brenny stuck close to grandpa and helped him carry them

 although it looks like i might've just taken an awful pic with his eyes shut,
dashiell was actually trying really hard to pull the peas off
he did, eventually~

 zoe and justin come down, too!

[edit...grandpa said it's some kind of melon, but he couldn't remember specifics!]

 but these look like onions to me!

 dashiell helped with A green bean

 content with the baby carrots he was thinning out for gramma

on a side note...I e en helped with the carrots!  

but of course, when gramma asked us to do it, i had to ask, "ummmm...which ones are the carrots?!"

oops.  city girl in a garden = confuzzled

 plucking out some flowers

 brenny tucked them into his underpants, for some reason.

 [i didn't like the coloring on this one, so i just changed it completely.]
