so i was off to school this early saturday morning to help my club, mu alpha theta, to get ready for the 2nd annual mathletes competition. something they created for our district's grades 4-8.
little did i know that matthew was going to be there with his school!
[such a bad mommy. i asked him months ago, and he said he hadn't heard anything. so after i knew for sure ross was going to participate, i asked him again. nope, he hadn't heard anything. so i kind of dropped it. well, i guess since it's his weekend with his dad, he didn't bring it up with me...and so i look up from the registration table, and who do i see???]
=D

the whole group of 132 students...
team round #1
matthew ended up winning 2nd place for individuals, his team won 1st place and ross ms won 1st place overall for middle schools! woo-hoo!
[ok, there were only 3 middle schools present here today - carmenita and whitney both did not attend this year. but still!] love it!!!
matthew ended up leaving early because of his baseball game, and so he missed the awards ceremony. i had his math teacher take his trophy and medal, so he could present it to matthew at school on monday.
after the game, we come home and see dashiell and brenna playing with the big ball in the sprinklers!
ellen and sophia, the two little girls across the street, were standing by watching. O.o
then they washed daddy's car.
so these two little girls are interesting. neat that they are d&b's age (1st and grade k)...however, we have yet to see the dad. the kids just run out and play with d&b and no dad is ever in sight. the closest i got was the other day, where they said he was inside, but in the bathroom! and then i saw their grandma, who only speaks korean and waved at me from the doorway.
they are apparently from hawaii (license plate gave it away) and when i asked the older one where their mom was, she said that she's working a lot in HAWAII!. hmm, couldn't get from her why she's not with them. sooo....it's just weird.
the first time they came over (monday?) they just ran into our house, and headed upstairs to play. mom had to shoo them out because the boys were going to get ready to eat. it's strange.
no boundaries, it seems. but also no parents coming out to check to see that we're not weirdos!
here are some pics from matt's game
