getting ready to check out

but before we do so, we take a visit up to the 2nd floor (pirates)

 and the 3rd floor (adventure, a la indiana jones)

 and back down on our floor, the 1st floor (castles)

 do you spot baby sharkie and baby penguin in all of these pictures, by the way??

 this is in the hotel lobby too (you can see the lounge in the background, and part of the castle/pirate ship)

 back in the lounge area, a closer view of the blimp's underside...

 again, we went in through the "secret" entrance
dashiell was convinced that he could be just as brave as brennan now (who called him a scaredy-cat) so he rode coastersaurus with us.  we were the first riders on this ride today!

 on the kid power ride (where you pedal to go a little bit faster)

 i let brennan finally get his ninjago face painting
since we were only spending a few hours here today (no water park either) we wouldn't have to worry about it washing off

 so proud of his face!

 dashiell spent TWO hours playing in here while brennan and i rode a bunch of rides
we had gone on the kid power, and then back to see if the face painting place was open (it wasn't yet) so we rode fairy tale brook and then coastersaurus yet again (for a double ride) and then the face painting was open
here, brennan made a sword and has something else tucked into his waitband

 dashiell and his machine gun (er...i don't know about that...)

 before heading out to the car to make the drive home (with a pit stop at mcd's for lunch -- that was the lure to leave), we stopped to go potty in the hotel bathroom

 brennan crashed right after finishing his chicken nuggets...
dashiell fell asleep about 30 minutes later

a few hours later, they went outside to play, and guess who came out to "play" too 

(i put the word play in quotes because she doesn't seem to really play...she mostly just watches. a little strange.)

here's a picture of the castle/pirate ship in the Mini's Lounge

 we were able to enter the park through a special hotel guests only entrance (or the secret entrance, as dashiell called it)
we got to go in an hour early, which allowed us access to 5 rides (safari trek, coastersaurus, fairy tale brook, kids power tower and 1 more (the one where you pull yourself up))
we were the very first riders on safari trek, one of brenny's favorites

 brennan was ready to ride coastersaurus --
which dashiell said he wasn't scared to ride, but rather didn't want to waste his time "waiting"
hmmm...

 back to the duplo village and the train..of course!

 back at the aquarium, brennan was waiting to be touched by the baby shark and also touched the chocolate chip starfish
