it was a hot, but windy day today with some clouds to break up the heat.

mer had her friends over to celebrate her 40th, but we got a head start on playing in the pool before they came over.

brennan was first VERY excited about 'going swimming', meaning he wanted to put his swimsuit on, but once we were outside, he was not interested in getting in the pool. i carried him in a few times and got him wet, but he wasn't happy. he didn't even want to sit with me at the edge. he DID, however, want to sit with AE (or E-A, as Bren says most times!)

it wasn't until waaayyy later, when i had given up even trying to get him in, where he just went right and sat in on the edge all by himself. he pretty much didn't want to get out for a looonng while.

several times he'd tell daddy that he was done and wanted out, but once derek went to get him, he'd tell him that he wanted to be back in the water. silly boy.
dashiell had fun using the shark/whale chlorine holder as his floatie. hmm.
