took the kids to pretend city this morning.

i had 4 passes that i am giving to allison so that she could get out with her boys and join us.  (thad is gone all week.)

buy it was a CRAZY day.  the restaurant and the house were NOT opening until 10am (members' hour is at 9am) since they were having a grand opening for it.  

the restaurant is now sponsored by wahoo's (there was a ribbon cutting and the 3 owner-brothers were there).  wahoo's was giving out free tacos, which we each got one.  it was the first time i ever ate one, and it's pretty tasty - a little spicy though.  dashiell only wanted cheese on it, and same with brennan.  but dashiell actually ate all of his!  he didn't even realize it was fish!  =)

etnies (a skateboarding shoe company) was also there.  i think the house was styled after the owner of etnies - not sure.  i couldn't quite hear what they were saying during the ribbon cutting, so i'm not too sure.  but they were also doing skateboarding 'shows' outside (we didn't go) and dashiell got to try to stand on one (with help from the guy).

brennan didn't want to do it because he didn't want to wear the helmet.  =/

 they also decorated shoe boxes that were put together to make a giant skateboard that they were going to put up  on the wall.  maybe it'll be there the next time we go?

 after leaving, we went to chick-fil-a, as our usual treat. had to head straight to dashiell's cooking class.
it wasn't a good one, though.  they made tuna salad - and the teacher made the kids eat what they made!
dashiell threw up, basically.  =(

 after 5, the marcrofts came by, rode bikes, played in the yard, and we ate mini-corn dogs outside until about 8:30!
the kids were (thanksfully) exhausted.
