hotter than yesterday, PLUS there's a brush fies in etiwanda, which is by riverside county, so all the outdoor games (baseball, softball, and tennis) were cancelled.
oops! just remembered to give matt his present from gramma and grandpa! =)
oh my. i guess derek must've taken this when i fell asleep with the boys.
as you can see, they each like to hold my hand as they fall asleep. =p
thank goodness my classroom is an icebox. i just hid out there as much as possible.
brennan had a game -- the sun was starting to set (a little) so it was a little cooler. although when i checked the weather channel app, it said it was 92, but "feels like 89"
just chillin' in the dugout, waiting his turn..
he received a special prize for "running super fast to first base" today!
a game ball was given out right before this, and he was sad to not get it again, and commented "i never get a game ball!" and then his coach called his name for this one. how sweet!
pascale and i ran the 33nd la jolla 1/2 today
it's the second of three races in the 'triple crown', which we'll be completing 52.4mi (because we ran the carlsbad full)
if you look really carefully at the border text on the race shirt, it says '33nd annual'
so sad that it wasn't proof read properly...
the race course was beautiful. we even ran through torrey pines state park, which was the 1mi uphill trek from mile 5 to mile 6. that part was so hard! nonetheless, the weather was nice and cool most of the way. by my watch, i finished 2:13:03.
pascale's laptop and my laptop are sisters ;-)
our super-chear hotel room (thanks to priceline express) was at an extended stay america. it was like a little apartment (or dorm room)
we went to have dinner at a local sandwich shop, board & brew
i had the baja beef (sans jalepenos) it was soooo good.
then we walked over to a park of carlsbad state beach. it was so pretty there!
brennan was having a pretty tough time with the loose tooth that just wouldn't fall. so i asked him if he wanted me to call the dentist to see if they could get it out for him...he said yes. that was yesterday though, and they were closed. so i tried again today, and we went in at 2:30.
he didn't like the topical numbing gel that the dentist put on, and he didn't really want him to pull because he was afraid...
after eating breakfast at our hotel (free deluxe continental breakfast. yummy! they had waffles!)
we arrived around 9:45)
a quick jump onto lost kingdom and then beetle bounce!
they had me go on there with them today...
my tummy was up in my throat! =p
then dashiell had to go a few more times, by himself.
brennan ran over to dune raiders to go down the slide several times.
dashiell joined brennan on the slides, but wanted to continue. i couldn't convince dashiell to ride the dragon roller coaster with us, so brennan and i went by ourselves twice. (we stayed on it because noone was really there for the next turn. yay!)
brennan wanted to ride one of his all-time favorites, the joust. dashiell didn't...so he and nana headed up to the wild woods playground...
met up with them again, and dashiell wanted to go straight to the water park. brennan wanted to ride splash battle. so once again, we split up.
i wasn't able to splash him because they weren't working! =( so he didn't get very wet this time.
a quick pit-stop in the adventure ...??... it's mummy-brennan!
aah. now we're in the water park. thank goodness! now i can finally sit for a bit.
the weather was much warmer, but a few more clouds early on.
after a couple of hours, both were ready to go elsewhere....
since they couldn't decide where to go, we split up again.
brennan wanted to try the aqua zone wave racers, which we've never ridden before. it was a lot of fun and we figured out how not to get too wet =p we went twice in a row!

project x was just around the corner. dashiel never really wants to ride this one with us...
brennan sat in the front row with me behind him. (it's a 4-seater car)
then he wanted to go on again, and told me "i want to go alone"
little did i know he actually meant, without me in the car at all! so he kicked me out, basically.
wow. =p
bionicle blasters...alone again!
he read the signs, and once he noticed that it said 6 years and 48" tall can ride alone...he told me that he wanted to go alone...
what a big boy!
making our way back to duplo playtown to meet dashiell and nana.
they rode kid power tower together, but then fought at the top. =(
brennan poked dashiell in the eye because he said he didn't want to go so high.
hmm. that's the ride.
we waited to also ride sky cruiser (nana fell in line while they waited for kids power tower)
and they played in the play area in the meantime...

back down towards the duplo playtown was emmet!!

dashiell really wanted us to go towards the build and test
last time we were here, the big shop was here temporarily while it was being renovated. now that it's all fixed, they actually renamed this to be 'lego city build and test' and had new ramps as well as not just the wheels, but the wheels on a base to use.
brennan was quite sad because he couldn't win...dashiell helped him build and upgrade, and i was able to help him fix it a little (it was pulling to the side, so i switched the wheels around)
then he was happy.
and he could leave.
so we went out to the aqua zone wave racers again, but asked nana to come and take some pictures for us!
we could hear the lego character party happening over in miniland, so when we finished our ride, we went to go check it out. we missed most of it, but that didn't bother brennan.
he even got to meet max!
dashiell still wasn't ready to leave build and test, so we rode the coastal cruise together. it was starting to get chilly...
it was almost 7pm, and we had to get some dinner (quick stop at mickey-d's) and head on home.
we stopped in the family restroom on the way out...
when we got back to the car and i started driving, i realized i left my phone in the bathroom. =(
ran back...someone was cleaning it...no...checked with the nearby shops and guest services...no...filled out at lost item ticket...ran back to the car to look...still no...ugh.
then i realized i forgot to ask the membership counter on the outside of the park...went back again. and there it was. someone *just* turned it in. thank heavens for good people! (maybe after they tried to unlock, but couldn't?! this was more than 15-20 min later) but nonetheless. thank goodness!
i was really just sad for all these pictures that i would've lost. everything else was replaceable but i wouldn't have had these to see.
the drive home was easy-peasy! no traffic at all! brennan crashed after dinner, and dashiell made it all the way home.
