busy day today

started off with a nice, easy 14mi run with pascale, then got ready for dashiell's 2nd game of the season.

the other team only had 6 players so the innings went pretty fast.  he got to bat 3 times.

this is his first at bat, where he didn't hit off the machine and so he hit off the tee instead (they get 5 chances, i believe)

he was really upset about that...saying things like, 'i can NEVER hit it!'  which of course, is totally untrue.

 then he pouted a lot after being on the field for defense because 'the ball NEVER comes to me!'
his second at bat resulted in a nice hit....
but notice how he's pouting through most of it =/

third at bat...hit off the machine again...
now look at his expressions!  (there were multiple pictures like this.  goofy!)

matthew's game was a couple of hours later...

they played one of the long beach teams

because his team has soooo many players (15-16?) the rotation is pretty long.

so he got up to bat 2 times, and got 1B hits both time.  =D

our team only had 4 hits for the entire game...

so not bad for hitting!

it wasn't pretty.  he's never been able to get the whole sliding thing down.  how does one practice that?  maybe will ask the coach.  =P
he skinned his knee pretty good doing it though.  and he DID score!

     

 whew.  that was kind of ugly O.o
