so i got to run wtih kelly again.

drove up to ucla to pick her up and headed to topanga state park.  their parking lot doesn't open until 8am, so we parked on the street and walked it.  it was light out already by 6:30, so we were in good shape.

she'd never been out here before either, but was eager to see the 'new' trails, so i accompanied her (so she wouldn't be out here alone)

 this was part of the goal...to get to eagle rock.
i asked her if she knew why it was called eagle rock...but she didn't know, and i don't either.
does it look like an eagle?!  do/did eagles next over there?  no idea...
but there it is behind us, as we made our way to it

this panoramic was actually taken from where we were sitting (about 1/3 the way up)

 if you look carefully, there's a couple sitting much higher up.  they were having a picnic or something up there, we didn't want to interrupt them.
plus both of us are scared of heights so we weren't feeling too adventurous.
kelly actually didn't even want to go 1/3 the way up.  =p

 we ran a total of 8 miles...eagle rock was actually only about 2 miles in...not very far, surprisingly.
we saw another deer on our way out.

 a nice cool day with lots of clouds to keep the heat away.
