we first went by sunshine park, but had to change our plans because the playground was soooo tiny! =p
so around the corner we went, to regional. we only went to one of three there, so maybe another day we'll visit the other ones.
cerritos regional park
- location: 5 stars (close to home, quiet, lots of 'easy runners' around)
- fun-factor: 4 stars (sand, bars to hang/swing from, little tunnel)
since the ground was all sand, i convinced dashiell to take off his socks and shoes. eventually brennan gave in, and it was fun for them to run barefoot.
they really enjoyed hanging on these. brennan was the first (of course!) to have daddy hold him and go all the way across. dashiell wanted to do it next (of course!) but then once derek got him up there, he got scared and was clinging onto him. we coaxed him into being OK with it by telling him brenny did it all by himself...then he really had fun hanging on as long as he could (1st try: 9sec, 2nd try: 14sec)
then it became a contest, but i think their hands were getting tired.dashiell was pleased that he was able to hang on the longest.
only down-side...no benches in the shade to sit in while watching the kiddos.
