we went to rynerson park at first (we visited once last year with megan fas) but then upon reaching the playground, i remembered why i didn't like it to much. it had sand in the playground, but there were RED ANTS everywhere...and dashiell wanted to take off his shoes!
so we promptly left and headed to veteran's park in cypress.
it's going through a complete overhaul since we used to take matthew there, and dashiell when he was tiny...it was GREAT!
veteran's park, cypress
- location: 5 stars
- fun-factor: 5 stars
although mom and i liked yesterday's park better, this once ends up with the higher ranking for us, because it's (1) closer to home and (2) just as much fun. towards the end of our stay, more kids came, which made it similar to la mirada...but there were more kids earlier on yesterday. soo...tough call on which one is better.
they had a taller 'rock climbing' wall than yesterday...and both boys were NOT deterred by that fact! (well, dashiell at first...but then not anymore after i told him brennan scaled it easily!)
hmm. he's a climber.
dashiell was a bit hesitant at first...look at his face!
but once on top, he was happy!
when you move the musical notes, and they hit those blue orbs, it makes music =)
dashiell wouldn't even touch this one. evergreen park had a similar one...

brennan said he'd do it...but it got hard once he was high up. 2/3 of the way, and he didn't want to go any further. i couldn't even really reach him up there, either! but he wasn't afraid at all!
going to check out the other cypress parks at some point; i think they must've redone all of their parks. nice~
