the silent pool
i think it said that this area was inspired by alice in wonderland - when we walked down the stairway to access this area, the stairway changed a bit (giving the impression we were getting smaller?) and the trees are super long and tall.  it also mentioned that there is nothing inside this area that could be used as a reference to true size, thus making it seem like we've gotten smaller.  the walls behind the trees also had water going down them.  it was very quiet in here.

 the active pool
looking down...

looking up...
the steps we took to walk down to the bottom of the pool looked like PI!  =D
(this is the view from the bottom to the top:)

this was soooo loud

totally loud at the bottom.
apparently 9 years ago (june 16, 2004 i think) 4 people drowned here...1 kid fell in (either a tween or early teen), two others tried to help save her, and also the dad...something about the draining system sucked them in and they couldn't get out or something...really sad.  the bottom part apparently was much deeper then too.  i looked it up and this pool was closed for a number of years, and opened back up several years later.

 atop the mountain, looking down

me, on top of the mountain!
 whee!

we went to the fort worth rose gardens

upon looking at old pictures and yearbooks, we came across these pictures, of another friend of ours, leslie!
we sent her this picture via messaging on fb because she was also online at the same time =P
