May 8th, 2014

mom and i went to gombo wang, this small little korean place that we've seen right down the street from our house for lunch.
i didn't have any kids 4th period today since they were all off taking their AP Lit test.
so it's a korean cold noodle house...
i had the bibim naengmyun while mom had the galbitang (which was a hot soup)
it was quite yummy!
homemade buckwheat noodles with some sort of sauce on it made from lots of veggies and fruits.  had pickled radish, cucumbers, a little meat and 1/2 an egg on top, too.  it was a little sweet (the owner said some people even add more sugar) but it had some spicy kick at the end...
instead of tea, there was some 'soup' (but you drink it like a tea) made of 7 veggies, fruits, spices, etc...it's like a very delicious, hot broth.  so cold noodles plus the hot soup/tea make for a good meal...

the owner, who seated us, and helped us pick our meal said that it's a very traditional homestyle meal that they have.
i think we'll be back sometime!  =D

dashiell had a late game this evening.
he hit well again, 3:3!  yay!!
